COM interface to java application Posted: Nov 4, 2006 4:51 PM

I am stuck in a decision loop for which I would appreciate any help.

We have a project developed in Java. To interface this with a front end we need to expose a COM interface preferably in a dll form. i.e. front end will be able to talk to this back end appilation via this dll exposing a COM interfaced pre-defined functions. As far as I know we cannot build a dll in java. So how should I proceed from here?? Should I use CNI/JNI. Also if I make a dll in C++ and then interface it to backend using sockets etc. Kindly comment.

I used J-Integra for the communication COM <-> Java

It's not free, but it rocks.

Get a 30 days trail version here:

It's been a while since I've been looking, but there should also exist some free interfaces.
Since my project was a commercial one, I didn't take a closer look.
