I would like to run a unix script from java which changes the value of Environment Variables is this possible as this needs to be executed in ksh as . and csh as source.

I have been trying in vain to use the java runtime.exec but it doesn't have any understanding of . or source.

Also are thier any API Function to Get and Set Environment variables like DISPLAY.

Any help would be appreciated
