I woke up this morning and found yet another homework for pay request. I decided I'd better go ahead and delete such posts. I understand students are under a lot of pressure and don't always have time to complete all assignments, but I want to encourage students to be honest.

For students, Java Answers is supposed to be about the kind of help you get from a tutor. You try to do an assignment. If you run into trouble, you can post questions to the forum and hopefully get some help from fellow students or experienced programmers. I don't want Java Answers to become a marketplace for buying and selling homework assignments.

If you pay someone to to help you complete an assignment, to guide you and explain concepts to you, you are being tutored. I think that's fine, so long as you are participating in doing the assignment. But if you just pay someone to do the assignment for you, then turn it in with your name on it, that's an act of academic dishonesty. You are committing a form of plagiarism.

As a former student myself, I know students are under pressure to get good grades. I know students have a heavy workloads. But keep in mind that difficult situations are when your character is being put to test. I would suggest that it is better to fail a course honestly than to pass the course by cheating. You should think about your character as well as your grades.
