I want to make me professional in java.What is the requirements in today's life and what kind of courses and certification is needed and from where.Is there free online resources to do so..thanx

http://java.sun.com is the place to start digging. Check http://java.sun.com/docs/books/index.html for books. You can also find what certification Sun offers for java. Etc.

I recommend you to search the web also, because there are so many good java sites (design patterns, tips&trick, forums ...).
