need FileInputOutputStream

Hey everyone,

I was wondering what kind of classes are out there for both reading from and writing to a file at the same time. I know how to use a FileOutputStream, and I know how to use a FileInputStream, but I need something that has the features of both, like a FileInputOutputStream.

One possibility would be the RandomAccessFile. It implements both the DataIinput and DataOutput interfaces. Random access files can be opened in "read-only" and "read/write" modes.
