Looking for recommended training/certification books.  Am mainframe
cobol retread who is self-training in java.  Absent professional java
experience, seems reasonable to show sun certifications.  Looks like
scjp, scjd, scwcd would be reasonable, with perhaps scbcd, scdjws.

    Request opinions:  what certifications might prospective employer 
                       consider, absent professional java experience? 

Finished Thinking in Java (3rd ed. B. Eckel), and starting on Core 
Servlets and JavaServer Pages (2nd ed. vol 1 Hall, Brown).  
Unfortunately:
1.  The CSJSP book has no practice coding exercises (with solutions).
2.  While the TIJ book does (with purchased supplementary answers), I'll
    need supplementary books for scjp, scjd.
    
    Request book recommendations:
    a.  Prepping for scjp, scjd
    b.  Learning J2EE (need practice coding exercises, with solutions)
        + prepping for J2EE certification exam(s).
