I am using javax.comm API to read the serial port

I add SerialPortEventListener to the serialport object..

my problem is : RI(ring indicator) event is fired only
when I ring the phone(connected to modem at serial port)
& run the program at the same time..

But I want the program that though it is running & phone
rings later it should notify me..

please tell me what changes i have
to do so that it will show me the ring at any time after I run my program...
