Some of my old favourites were left off the panel:

FORTRAN: All these young whippersnappers have no idea what it was like to land two men on the moon with 16K core. In those days, if a program needed to request more memory, we would have to ask the operators nicely to run our jobs over the Thanksgiving weekend. That taught you about efficiency.

C: That's the only thing we do agree on, daddy-o. I'm much happier now after the C++ divorce. He tried but you could tell his heart really wasn't into lean and mean.
