As stated on TSS the first inoficial JDO 2.0 expert group has met and discussed the future of JDO. Many user complaints of the past seem to be on their ToDo list. This is nice to hear. The absence of a mapping spec was allways annoying to me and the JDOQL limitations were and are all over the place. Nowadays you must have REAL faith to your JDO vendor, supplying you with the needed functions, which are then of course proprietary. Luckily my JDO vendor of choice is quite flexible in that terms. (i wont do product marketing today hehe) Tomorrow i will try latest features of this very cool JDO implementation and play around with it a bit, perhaps i will have some time to discuss the ToDo List of the expert group with one of their developers...
