A friend of mine allowed me to use new Dell portable to play around with when he was on vacation, and I have successfully booted Gentoo Linux 1.4 from a 512MB (USB 2.0) USBStick on it, storing personal data on the 60 GB hard drive using ReiserFS 4.0, with encrypted enabled on file commit. Took quite some configuration tweaks to get it working, but now I’m in love. Booting is under 25 seconds, in XFce. Starting IDEA takes around 4...
