Obiously, by now you have seen numerous reports on Apple's alledge move to IBM chips including Scoble's post. Obviously, Scoble has no technical knowledge of differences between MacOSX and Windows...
First off, both OSes use different BIOS systems! So, you cannot run the same OS on the samr intel machine without VMWare like stuff. In fact to get MacOSx to run you have to wipe out the old wintel BIOS in the first place, ie the boot sector has to be MAcOSX based BIOS not Wintel!
Yes, its true that MacOSx can run on intel chips as IBM Power chips have the boot option to boot into a spefic Intel style bit order. But its a little more complicated that Mr Scooble's Apple bashing tactics.
Come on Scoble instead of bashing Apple, maybe lets see some technical knowledge and skills describing techically what happens with this change?!
To be blunt its much more likely that Apple is announcing XServer boxes based on intel rather than Mr Scoble's leaps to Apple bashing myths.
To be blunt this is not so much a defense of Apple as I prefer Linux. But to be blunt honest the PCI standard where a new BIOS system is defined is only supported by Apple and Sun Microsystems. Yes, Solaris and MacOSX use the same standard BIOS as defined in the PCI standard.
