Feed Description: A simple waste of time and weblog experiment
So my wife is flying back from a conference today on Airtran. Her initial flight is significantly delayed such that she misses her connection. Airtran has no more flights from the connecting airport to her destination tonight. Not only won't they pay for her hotel room, they won't book her on a flight until 2:45pm the tomorrow.
While she is trying to get to the hotel to crash (at almost 1:00am now) I call to have a chat, and they refuse to book her on another airline, earlier in the day because "she has already been rebooked on the 2:45pm flight." I ask if they'll then at least reimburse her hotel room and a rental car so she can accomplish something while she is stuck in a city for the majority of a day 750 miles from home. Their reply is that they are not allowed to talk with me anymore (apparently it was okay earlier) for security reasons (after 45 minutes of talking about this, confirming her flights, gathering info from me verifying that I at least have access to all her relevent security data, and the customer service rep going back and forth with someone else on all of my enquiries).
Aitran's customer service is utter malarkey. Flyer beware, Airtran will apparently screw you if they can.
