I was going to put this under mobile as I was first exposed to OSGi as part of my adventures in iTV/JavaTV. Peter Kriens operates an OSGi Evangelist blog at OSGi Alliance and has a nice 20005 OSGi recap that includes details on Apache's choice of Oscar as the basis for Apache Felix.
Although, Apache Felix points to the stable Oscar release to use for right now; I do not see why you could not use the Oscar 2 Alpha Release. Part of the reason for keeping current on OSGi is that it is generaly deployed and used on the boundary of JavaME CDC between the PDAs, set boxes, and etc.
Plus, I want to play with the Eclipse OSGi bundle repository features that work with the framework environments
