Well, I give up. I've spent three weeks trying to join the dark side (or is it the Rebel Alliance?) but I'm just not Emacs material. Among other things, I'm ultra-fussy when it comes to indentation, and having to fight the configuration battle for every different file type that I open was just too tiresome. So, I've added a legit copy of UltraEdit to my editing toolkit. It seems like Vim will remain my Unix editor of choice.
