Starting to write a ANTLR grammar may be a difficult thing to do as is not actual programming. As the result of this will be a Java parser you may want to test the parser by using common tools available for Java programmers. Here is a short introduction on how to do this. Is not an ANTLR introduction (there are good ones available) but rather and a kick-start how-to.
