I guess why I gravitate twoards system analysis subjects such as system automation has to do with what happens when it is not done. When I was completing work for the INDY Domain Name Speculator in 2001 absolutely nothing was ever automated.
Fro example, domain name speculators usually run thousands of website with either placeholders or database driven web applications. Thus, it is very important to have an automatic system to back-up the databases, logs, and etc on a daily basis. By releasing the server staff from this time consuming function you gain labor hours to be used in developing websites.
Basically, the same reason why you would use at the website desing level if doing 11,000 websites a Content Management System instead of plain raw HTML. But, if you do not have professional experience you are not aware of these issues even when experienced staff fights with you about these issues. IN fact you may as inexperienced CEO also claim that every past worker was hacking into your computers even though no evidence exists and even as CEO you refuse to pay debts arising from employing workers.
What is aggravating is that I at any time could help this start-up succeed only if they would apologize in a reasonable manner. Hell, I could even train the CEO to become a real software developer. Of course the failure to follow directions normally precludes people from mastering software development.
Oh well, the CEO has made a career chocie in no tfollow directions for some time and it appears he not change until the money finally runs out.
