Recently I submitted some Ajax and Geronimo Article/Tutorial ideas to IBM DeveloperWorks. But, to get an idea of what JavaEE is moving towards on the server side in integration of all rendering technologies including Ajax you need ot view the Eclipse Rich Server Platform. As you can see the base is JSR 291 which is an OSGi setup for JavaSE applications.

What only JavaSE? Remember JavaEE runs on top of JavaSE and thus server side components that are java based do run under the JavaSE base. Also note inthe Eclipse proposal the inclusion of the full non Java Eclipse component stacks such as PHP, Laszlo, and etc.

When? Given that JSR 291 is scheduled for a maintenance release with JavaSE7 in 2007 the Eclipse RSP project should have a final release by summer 2007?. This one of the reaosn why I submitted AJax and Geronimo ideas to IBM Devloperworks because I wanted to be involved in writing about this new technology in the JavaEE space.

Now, if only I could get feedback from the IBM DevloperWorks editors in a more timely fashion.
