I'm here at OpenWorld in the Moscone Center, waiting for today's keynotes to begin. Oracle shut off the little strip between the north and south Moscones, putting up tens and laying down red carpet. On the way over from SFO, the cab driver -- a fellow Texan from Seguin -- said, "I haven't seen that before."

Is that the Arctic Monkey's playing?

Later on this morning there's a panel discussion of Oracle and open source. As tends to happen -- for example with SAP at SAP TechEd -- I'm wagering that the panel will list all the open source projects it's involved in which should make for some nice notes. Of course, it'll also be fun to see which register the panel uses: Larry of Charles.

(Obviously, I'm posting this a bit later than the actual event.)
