This in-the-now magazine claims that Sun is moving java open source to the GPL license. Based on what proof since the article has no proof and Sun declined to comment? The CDDL is not compatible with the GPL folks.

Actually, Sun has a strong trend an history of choosing the BSD license through Apache Software Foundation whenever they open source some project or language. Look back at Tcl/Tk, what license is it after Sun made it open source? If you guessed BSD you would be right.
