i just decided to stop using my RSS reader for a while and especially to stop reading java.net. I mean how many more people are going to blog about this? We have this "Uhh ahhh, i can hack javac" crowd. People writing this seem to believe that they can take the code and boost java performance by factor 50. I doubt so! Then we have this "yipeee" people, who sound like if the API source code was closed the last years which is not the case. Only the license changed which for 99.9% of all java developers simply doesnt make any difference at all. All this GPL java hype is simply not that relevant apart from a few new linux/unix bundling scenarios. Personally i have never given a cent if java has an open source license or not. IMO Sun has done their best in the past to be liberal when it comes to java and its usage. Luckily my RSS reader also maintains some Mac related feeds which are not affected by that "monumental change in javaland". So how about blogging about more exciting topics?
