Setting one GUI toolkit for all of Mobile might seem counter intuitive. However, by settling on one GUI toolkit you can do some unique stuff. For example, if using thinlet technology you can go from MIDP with CLDC to MIDP CDC which encompasses not only MIDlets but also pJava Xlets.

It also means the developer can move from low end revenue streams to high end revenue streams with the same skill set and the same development investment. Obviously the Mobil e Carriers benefit form this but how do you get Mobile carriers interested in indirectly sustaining this concept?

Hmm, something to ponder..
