The JDK is now released under the GPL v2. There's an interim governing board consisting of Simon Phipps, Dalibor Topic, Mark Reinhold, Doug Lea, and Fabian Nardon. They'll write a constitution and hold elections. There's a special NetBeans module for contributing to the JDK. The TCK will eventually be made available. If a product passes the TCK, it can use the Java brand.
