An aspect of co-sharing a CTO role with an equal as skilled senior developer as myself is that get to see or experience ah ha moments. For example, I usually show for some meetings early as among both the founder and my 'co-partner in crime' we generally know which meetings are ahead of our project meetings. This week was my turn to be arly for a meeting as I knew that the founder might be interviewing creative writing/marketing people.
This marketing person just did not get it as far as understanding that the web platform we are creating is the marketing tool. That is not to say we will not prepare an email flyer type stuff to send out. But, the brunt of the marketing effort is getting the web platform right not just UI wise but so innutive that it acts as the marketing pitch to get new users and bring all users back for more and wanting more.
It should wow a user in how effective they can be in using the site that they run out and tell 100 friends and peers about that Web Platform. That Web Platform is the marketing tool.
