As of August 6, Genuitec is proud to be a completely carbon footprint-free organization. By partnering with CarbonFund.org, Genuitec has offset all emissions created as a result of our business.

This may seem like we're jumping on the "green" bandwagon, but Genuitec has been a concious organization from the get-go.

“Genuitec has been an environmentally-conscious organization since its inception,” said Maher Masri, CEO for Genuitec in a press statement. “We're happy to publicly address our commitment to minimize our impact on the environment as well as provide our customers with a great product and dollar value. By doing so, we're able to address the two pressing issues of the day: economic uncertainty and environmental responsibility.”

As a completely virtual organization, Geunitec's carbon footprint is kept small by remaining paperless and eliminating daily commutes for employees and the necessity of energy costs for maintaining an office space.

While it is small, Genuitec still recognizes the small carbon footprint created due to travel necessities for participating in conferences and driving to meetings. Genuitec has partnered with CarbonFund.org to offset all of these ancillary emissions.

We're excited to shed a bit of green light on the Java tools space, and we're encouraging you to join us in our efforts. To prove the point, Genuitec will pay to offset the travel-related emissions of anyone attending our speaking track at EclipseWorld in October. When you use the code "Genuitec" when registering we'll be glad to offset your emissions. You'll even save an additional $200 off the admission price of a full access pass! Save some green and be green at the same time!

Software companies, though our products aren't tangible and do not require a factory to produce, still make an impact on the environment. We encourage any and all of our peers to rise to the challenge of making our world a little bit greener. But, why should you care?

“Sustainability should concern companies of all different shapes and sizes, which need to make clear, auditable commitments to lowering their carbon footprint,” said James Governor, Principle Analyst at RedMonk. “Even software businesses have an impact, which is why it’s good to see Genuitec's leadership here, with its 'measure, then manage, then reduce' strategy.”
