You will be noticing some new categories such as Android and iPhone at this blog. Russsell Beattie, former Yahoo Mobile Consultant, has always stated in his mobile essays that mobile web is dead.

It goes deeper than that as I fully believe that J2me as implemented by the JCP is in fact dead. That is to say I do not believe java on mobile devices under the JCP standards is the way I instead believe both Steve Jobs, Google, and OHA are right in that j2me is not the way and that a radical new approach is required.

Will Steve Jobs implement Java on iPhone the same way Google does on Android? That may be not the right question to ask. The correct question may be how many Android Mobile Operator wins in 2009 as that puts pressure on Steve Jobs and Apple to counter as far as number of Mobile Operator wins for Android.

We are we talking about this? Because the Android and iPhone platforms combined have surpassed WindowsMobile market percentages. That always on web at fingertips is a very strong selling point to consumers and developers.

Think back before there was a JCP, who did innovate to break java so that we could have a first taste of java on Mobile? It was Motorola. Given that it was Google this time though Spectrum Auctions and OHA combined it shows us how times have changed in the java on mobile area. Changes that are for the better both currently and in the future.
