First, I would like to apologize to every Eclipse user as if this had dawned on me either this year I would have asked. Remember when Eclipse contributors were claiming it works and plain user were claiming it does not? Now there is a logical reason.
What distribution do Eclipse code contributors usually use? RCP, right? Go and install RCP and Non RCP Eclipse 3.4 distributions right now and tell me what you noticed? RCP works and the non RCP does not via Equinox P2 Updates correctly as advertised. No its not a joke, try it yourself. Thus, the obvious question why is it only working in the RCP distro correctly as advertised?
Please understand all kidding aside this is not a blame finger pointing at Eclipse contributors. Its just that how was it missed and what can be set up to correct it for future problems tha t will also be similar in nature. Wel at least I do not have to switch to NetBeans..
