For awhile I have been observing a trend I did not like ever since last summer when I did some social media socialology experiments that resulted in afuny clip from MA miss-pronouncing my last name. I have watched as a hard working guy and his employees was generally mistreated, abused, reputation maligned, and etc. The trend has gotten somewhat worse per this TC post.
In times where there are no magical big seed captial angels the 'seed capital' comes from how you as a start up treat others. Treat others with respect and etc and the user base of your start up product grows exponentially. Do not treat others with respect and treat others in an unprofessional manner all the time and I can gurantee that your start up FAILS!
And guess what folks? In financially constrained times you need also the users you can get by treating people right as a start up. Do I need to re-emphasize that the tech press is one of those helpful users in that they want your start up to succeed but with products that the user wants to use and enjoy?
As a start up you earn users by caring about their treatment at the hands of your product. That caring is regularly recognized at techcrunch.com by coverage of said start up's products. Unprofessionally miss treating the press that covers your start up is a sign of Immoral Cowardice of what can only be said is the greaest excuse for why those who do not get it and continue to abuse should never breed.
