First, let me welcome both Motorola and SonyEricsson to reading my ZyleHomeScreen progress daily as one of the reason why I started Zyle is that I believe that the Google/OHA did not go far enough in user interface design as far as features in the HomeScreen part of Android OS pertaining to issues that both Mobile Operators and OEMs have raised.
Sometimes the visual updates are not as fast coming as far as the visual look and behaviour due to changes in underlying code structures. At the moment due to the drawingCache performance hit I cannot implement an image thumbnail page solution to navigation in a complete sense. But there is another way to re-implement that part of the UI. Obviously a dock scrolling gallery of page icons might be the way to go.
My legal constraint here is that the resulting dock user interface elements cannot copy Apple's iPhone. The dock behavior I have come up with satisifes that requirement. But I cannot show it until I finish the underlying code structure changes. The resulting dock UI is very different from Apple iPhone and is quite different forom what Sweeter Home has come up with. And yes its even very different from Palm Pre.
The only clue right now that I can give about its radical nature is that its two dock contextual dock system that deals specifically with the Android hardware trends. Okay back to code.
