With JavaFX 1.3 adding to the number of available user interface controls, there is now a useful guide on the JavaFX website giving examples of them in use. The Using JavaFX UI Controls gives an overview of the controls in the JavaFX API, with tips on using layout, features and effects.

In the contents menu you'll find articles with example code for using the controls (Label, Button, Radio Button, Toggle Button, CheckBox, Choice Box, Text Box, Password Box, Scrollbar, Scroll View, List View, Separator, Slider, Progress Bar, Progress Indicator, Hyperlink, ToolTip) as well as how to apply CSS to a control.
