Feed Description: My thoughts on Java, software development and technology.
I was chatting to somebody over lunch a couple of days ago and we got talking about how tricky the CVS support in IntelliJ IDEA was to setup. For me, CVS configuration is one of those things that once I've got it working I try not to touch too much for fear of it breaking! Although it did work in IDEA 3.0, I've yet to try it out in the EAP builds. Perhaps that's a job for the train to work tomorrow.
Anyhow, we also got talking about CVS clients for Mac OS X and it reminded me of a blog entry that I posted back in September last year. After around three months, I'm still using SmartCVS and I find it fits my needs really well, being the closest thing to TortoiseCVS that I can find. In summary, it's fast and gives me the ability to see exactly what's changed and what I have yet to version control. A great tool and highly recommended if you're after a lightweight CVS client, particularly for Mac OS X, although it is written in Java. ;-)
