For those who don't know, Pixar parted ways with Disney on their collaboration on animation movies. Ok...however, no, Matt did not sign a multi-million/billion dollar deal with Disney. But...AppFuse has made it's name here in the land of Mickey :-)
Last night at the Orlando JUG meeting, Compuware gave a presentation on "MDA and OptimalJ".
During the presentation I ask 400 ed the speaker about support for O/R mapping frameworks like Hibernate, OJB, JDO etc.
At the end of the meeting, the OJUG president approached me and asked me if I worked with Hibernate cause he would like to have a presentation done on it and other interesting Open Source tools/frameworks.
I mentioned to him that he could download AppFuse as a starting point for working with the common opensource Java web app tools.
The funny thing here is that he said he found out about Hibernate because of AppFuse!
He said he had gotten it off of SourceForge and was looking at it.
So Matt, just want to say that AppFuse has landed in the "House of Mouse" and hopefully I can spread the word on it and other good opensource projects.
I know the OJUG president said he would like to have more presentations on opensource tools that alot of us are using everyday as oppo 400 sed to products from vendors.
So maybe time permitting I will be able to do AppFuse and others justice and present about them to the JUG.
Keep up the good work guys!
On a side note, the No Fluff Just Stuff Symposium is interested in having a date in Orlando/Florida this year I beleive, cause the OJUG president said they approached him about it to get feedback from the group.
So I am hoping enough of us push for it and have the high calliber speakers that make up this Symposium come down to this nice warm place and wet are appetites for Java!
