If you've been playing with JDK 7 and have wondered how bug fixes are worked on behind the scenes then you should have a look at A Bug's Life blog post by Dalibor Topic. He goes through the gauntlet a bug has to run through before emerging fixed in an update.

He also mentions work being done to update the bug tracking system used in the OpenJDK.
