It looks like I can add my name to the very large list of people
not speaking at JavaOne this year. I submitted a proposal for a BoF
session along with Jack Herrington (CodeGeneration Network, Code Generation in Action) on Code
Generation in Java. I thought we had a really solid proposal and in
interesting topic. With the authors of the only two books on code
generation to come out this year (that I can think of) I thought we
would have easily made it in, but I guess not.
Oddly, every person I've talked to that submitted a proposal was
rejected. Why? Lots of extremely high quality submissions? A biased
selection process? Not talking about whatever Sun decides is
important this year? Until they announce the selected talks, it's
hard to say why. I'm anxious to see if they have something good or if
it will be another dud like last year's JavaOne.
