I asked Don Park what he thought of ServerMatrix and he gave them a thumbs up, so I went in that direction (though I didn't get a response about SCO... I'll take my chances.). Anything to get away from EV1 - stupid fucks.

Here's the details:

Thank you for your order.

You will also receive a login username and password to the Orbit customer support center. From orbit you can monitor your server as well as open support tickets.

That's one bad-ass box for less money than I'm paying now at EV1. Not only is it the "right" thing to do, it's also the more economical. I'd have to be streaming free MP3s and teen-porn to be use up all that bandwidth. Notice that Debian install? Again, that's another right thing to do - Redhat abandoned the community (which is their right, but that doesn't mean I'm happy about it) so I'm moving to a distrib which doesn't need a corporate presence to continue being relevant. Plus I can't wait to be one of those snobby Debian "RPM? Bah! I just use APT-GET" users...

Betweeen this and moving my domains... take this as official notice that this website is going to be in flux for a few weeks.

-Russ
