PC World in the UK are selling the G3 iBook for �499. This is what I am using as my main home computer (until I get a new Powerbook later in the year!), and have done for >18 months with no problems at all. Put a half a gig more RAM in it, and you have got a pretty decent road-warrior for very little money!
