Feed Description: My thoughts on Java, software development and technology.
Sam and I presented our "Java Development on Mac OS X" session today at the London JSIG. Overall it went well and we met some interesting people, some of which use Mac OS X as their primary development platform. In fact we were very surprised by the audience because almost everybody that came along had a Mac of some description, ranging from the old 68000's to the new G5 towers.
We were expecting that most people would have never seen a Mac before but unfortunately this wasn't the case. Kind of threw our nice introduction to Mac OS X slides a little but it just goes to show how prevalent the Macintosh platform is amongst Java developers! Oh well, we hope that everybody learnt something, even if was just seeing what IntelliJ IDEA 4.0 looks like on Mac OS X.
Amusingly I got ribbed for using Microsoft PowerPoint X instead of Apple's Keynote. Clearly I'm not a proper switcher! Regardless of my presentation tool, you can download the slides from here. They are in PDF format. :-P
