Looks like the fallout from the Microsoft settlement has already started. Rich Green, former VP of developer platforms and Java advocate has left Sun. Found the link to The Register story on TSS that seems to indicate that Rich left in disgust. But the CNET story seems to contradict The Register's story about Rich and claims that he had resigned weeks ago and was also instrumental in brokering the company's legal settlement with Microsoft. Rich was the central figure in Sun's antitrust suit against Microsoft.
Monday's issue of the Wall Street Journal had a really in-depth article about the whole Sun-Microsoft settlement. It was interesting to see Bill Joy's quote in that article. Bill Joy said and I quote, "I'm surprised that the deal got done. Working with Microsoft has almost been an oxymoron". I wonder if Sun's desperate need for cash and Microsoft's need and desire to damage the EU case brought these companies together. If you get a chance, read the WSJ article @ wsj.com as it had a ton of behind-the-scenes information on the settlement.
