Feed Description: Welcome to my blog. I am a total Java geek that lives in Milwaukee, making my living as an architect/developer, spending all my time with Java, J2EE, OO, Linux, and open source. In my spare time, when I am not in front of my computers, I spend every other minute with my other loves: My wife, books, music, guitars, Formula-1 racing and StarGate. At eWorld, BEA dev2dev is going to launch a new free magazine, WebLogic Pro! The first issue of this magazine will focus on Service-Oriented Architecture, and includes articles on web services, XMLBeans, and a special feature article written by Scott Dietzen, BEA’s CTO. To receive a copy and information about signing up for a one-year subscription, go here.

BEA eWorld 2004 is being held at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco during May 24-27. I blogged about eWorld earlier and recommend anyone that can, should attend. The BEA User Groups are giving away an additional $250 discount - Register using this special code to save $250 off the Regular Price of $1,150: DEV750. I am bummed, as I can't make it this year. The company that I work for is going through some transitional events and not willing to pay for conference, training or travel expenses in the near term. It's hard to convince the wife that I need to spend another $ 2500.00 on eWorld when I just spent $ 600.00 on 'No-Fluff-Just-Stuff-Poluza' and $ 300.00 on the IDEA 4.0 upgrade.
