I mentioned the Amazon Purchasing Circles site to some folks at lunch today. Amazon has some criteria for aggregating buying habits -- for example, "Austin," (orders shipped to Austin addresses I guess) or, "Amazon Inc.," (employees of Amazon...by email address domain name?) or "pobox.com" (people who have addresses @pobox.com) -- and lists the top things bought per category.
It's an interesting way of browsing books. You can, for example, click on the Herman Miller, Inc. purchasing circle and see the top 10 (or so) books people from there are buying.
(As a rule, I try to restrict how long I spend browsing through books [either online or at an actual book store] because I start to see way too many books I want to read...and then I realize how little time I make for myself to read them. Oh! Woe is me!)
