Today is Memorial Day in the U.S. and though many people with friends and lives are probably out at swimming pools and barbecues, etc. I'm just using this opportunity to get caught up. Both on this weblog, and in life (bills, etc.). The plan is always to rip through all the miscellaneous stuff so that when I show up for work tomorrow morning, I have the proverbial "clean plate."
Obviously I can't get everything done. I need to get an oil change, for example. I need to buy socks which would necesitate leaving the house, which I don't want to do. Ditto for the perenial "exercise" bullet point on the ToDo list. I've got to do Traffic School online at somepoint. That I might be able to do today if the system takes my citation number finally, otherwise I have to call and figure out what the problem is. I need to put up a dark roller-shade in Alex's room because his room faces due east and as the days get longer, he's getting up earlier, and earlier, and earlier which is going to kill his Mom and I. Especially if I keep going to be at 3 a.m.
Lots of people I'm supposed to call - and businesses. And it's the end/first of the month so the bills are waiting as well. Then there's stuff I want to spend more time on for work. There's *always* more stuff to concentrate on for work.
And then, of course, there's this weblog. As I get back into it, I'm remembering a bunch of stuff I meant to post about that need to have some time spent writing as well. And I'm still enjoying tweaking the site immensely, though I'm sorta avoiding the drudgery of filling in all those XML-RPC APIs now that I got the main functionality working. I'm probably going to go back and get rid of the MoveableType APIs and just concentrate on the basic Blogger Stuff. That'll be good enough for government work, then it'll give me more time to start messing with the Atom API.
One thing at a time. Finishing stuff is more important than starting 30 things, right? (Excuse me, it's like a new mantra I have.) June 2004: The month Russell Got Stuff Done.
