The JavaOne welcome reception was held last night in the lobby of Moscone South and free beer (which didn't run out, unlike last year) was enjoyed by all. It was a good place for meeting people and it was nice to catch up with some of the JavaRanch guys again after last year, including Mark Spritzler, Rob Ross, Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates. In fact there were a few other faces that I saw from last year too which was a nice surprise.

We also managed to bump into Rick and Matt from JavaLobby and Rick is pictured below doing the Java sign.

After the welcome reception we went looking for the Struts meetup...
