I've just been reading through John D. Mitchell's look back at JavaOne and I think he's spot on when he says that the mood was upbeat. Since being back in the UK, I've spoken to many people about the conference and this is the one thing that crops up again and again. The atmosphere last year was terrible - everybody was moaning that the conference was tiny, the sessions were awful and the market was in a right state. This year there was none of that. Everybody seemed to be really getting involved, interested and happy.
