Feed Description: Just another lazy programmer. (Java and UI Design channels only.)
This article was doing the blog rounds yesterday, it came to me via Scripting News. I agree that as an industry we are increasingly wedged between Microsoft and open source. A large part of my time is spent using Microsoft apps, and it seems like every week I stumble across an excellent new piece of open source. As a programmer who wants to make money off his craft, it's pretty scary. However, I like what Joshua Allen says at Better Living. I too think that there is still room for smart ISV's. A small team of programmers with a consistent vision can out-engineer a slow moving organisation in many areas. That's what I'm hoping anyway.
