You may be wondering how I am testing the MIDLET for my MoonBuzz game without devices by just using emulators to ensure it runs on physical devices. This is where my Sales Channel Pumping strategy comes into full light.

I am always entering the game within a Handset Vendor channel first to take advantage of their testing on physical device certification programs. This ensures full functionality of game on the target handset after I have completed all my emulator tests on the final build.

Then and only then will I place my J2ME Game within a sales Channel like Handango to maximize my revenue. Because I am placing my game in handset vendor sales channels first, I have to pay particular attention to useability issues such as human langauge translation, graphics, sounds, and shakes that handset vendors look for in games.

That is one important aspect of J2ME devlopement in that your activities and strategies in coding and porting, pumping sales channels, useability for end user, and etc are inter-dependent upon one another.

The disadvantage is currently Asia handset vendors do not have physical device testing certification programs for J2ME games and applications. Which is why I have to maximize my revenue at this step to be able to support obtaining Asian Handset devices to physically test my games.
