In response to some comments left on my original entry about Pebble supporting categories, I'm now running the latest development build that allows you to filter the blog entries to a single category. Just choose a category from the dropdown at the top of the page and click the Change Category button. After doing this, you should find that only blog entries in that category are displayed, and that the calendar on the top-right only shows the days when that category was posted to. Feel free to give it a whirl and let me know if you find any problems.
