Chris and I have been discussing what to do about FlexDock in recent weeks. When we first moved the project to Java.net things looked bright. However, situations have now changed to the point we need a new direction. Both Chris and I have had our full time duties changed to the point we have little or no time to work on the code. It is also hard to evolve an open source project you don't use in your daily development.

I still feel that there is a place in the java landscape for a good open source docking solution that is free for commercial use. I think all that FlexDock needs is two or three people to begin using it as a part of their rich client applications and evolving the code base. I know a few people on the Spring Rich project have started using it. The interest is there. Someone just needs to pick up the ball. Anyone interested feel free to email me.
