For those of us that invoice at the end of every month we are all too well aware of the mythical bus that is going to run us over and whatever horrible injuries result will stop us from earning. It's the classic scare tactic insurance companies will use to make sure we buy their product so you can rest a little easier in your hospital bed. We kid ourselves into this believing that in worse case scenario if our fingers are okay, then we can still work.
Last night I seen the 'bus'. Well it wasn't a bus, but a flight of stairs. One of my darling son's left a small toy near the top and yup you've guessed whats coming next, I stepped on it and hit the bottom of said stairs a little faster than one was originally planning.
Fortunately my body broke the fall. Nothing broken, but lots of places where skin needs to get growing again and after a nights disrupted sleep, my body feels like it has been run over by the aforementioned bus.
Now the irony of the whole thing, is this. For all my aches and pains, the one part of my body that was sprained and is very painful to move; is my left hand! My keyboard seems awfully big this morning as I attempt to coach my fingers to their proper keys.
So keep an eye out for the bus, it has got clever, it is no longer bus shaped!
