I have been having a serious lack of motivation writing here. Nothing in particular has changed, I think, but I just don't feel like writing. Part of the reason is that I have been a bit bored with the web too. (Maybe it's time for a web-is-boring-let's-do-something-interesting-instead meme? Or is that a contradiction in terms? Or is that what everyone is already doing?)

To make matters worse, I will summarize here and now the results of my feedback poll which was conducted ages ago, which only makes me feel more guilty. (Why feel guilty in the first place?) Answers are all basically positive, but that's mostly because the choices practically forced it. The lame excuse of not having done this summary before is that I hoped to do some nice graphical presentation of the results, but never got around to do that. So.

The feedback form was filled and submitted from total of 58 different IP addresses. That could equal with 58 different people, but then again it could not. Be that is it may, I am grateful for everyone who answered. Thank you, again.

So, the first proposition was about the reason for reading this weblog. (Again, the choices forced a strong bias.) I had a strong suspicion that most people reading my weblog have a Python-news-addiction. Results:

I read Python owns us, because ...

I have a serious Python addiction and I want to know everything new about it. 44

I think you are the greatest weblogger ever lived and I want to read every word you write. (Bonus points for selecting this answer!) 4
um, well, I don't know, really. 5

Next was about what annoys most about Python owns us. What can I say. I have a low self-esteem about these things. The results are staggering.

The thing that most annoys me about Python owns us is ...

that you just cannot write English. Now, go read the Elements of style already.0
that you are just generally so clueless.2
that you post too much about things not related to Python. 6
that you apologize too much for your writings.46

I apologize for apologizing too much.

Then I asked what would you like to see more here. I suspected that most would like to see more posts about Python. That proved to be the case. (Thinking about the alternatives made my head hurt. Hope it didn't do that to yours.)

I would like to see more ...

Again, I am a sucker for getting acceptance. But here it goes:

Your grammar, spelling, and style ...

are OK. Quit asking about that already. 49

have shown signs of improvement, and I wish you'd write even better in the future. 3
??? I don't think you are 'grammer, spellin and style'? 4

(I thought that last choice was funny! Really!)

Which brings us to the next question. I don't normally try to be that funny, but whenever I can, I do. So:

I think you ...

Finally, there was this obligatory PSU gag. (Although PSU is not a gag.) I had this fear that some people are really getting bored with PSU, and to some extent (13 votes for that) that seems to be the case, but in general, there was the widest variation in answers here.

My relation to the PSU is that ...

I am a PSU agent, although I deny the existence of PSU. 4
the PSU does not exist.22
I was the chief architect of the design of the Time Machine, wherein I implemented the most eloquent and brilliant time traveling algorithm ever. (This choice is to check whether there are any ego-maniacs reading my weblog.) 2 [ed. 2??]
??? PSU? What is PSU? (This choice is to check whether there are any PSU agents reading my weblog.)17
I think PSU is too old a joke already.13

...

All in all, conducting the feedback poll was a great experience (and it really provided some insight to my readers' minds) and having over 58 different answers made my day. Thanks.

And yesterday I noticed that Dean Goodmanson, whose blog I dig, gave me some feedback through Artima Python Buzz feedback forum, about the lack of commenting system here. I know I should have one, and in the distant future I might even manage to make myself one. Don't hold your breath waiting.
