I have been very busy lately. How do some bloggers manage to post daily? Anyway, just wanted to make a quick note of something that has been useful to me more than once: to quickly and painlessly backup a directory from one machine to another using linux, you can use rsync like so:

rsync -a -e ssh source/ user@remote.com:/some/destination/
