The 2007 Plone Conference is under way far, far away in Naples, Italy. However, I have been able to attend a couple of sessions today thanks to the wonderful efforts of Christian Scholz and the conference organizers.

Plone users and developers around the world can now be part of the conference in some way and even learn a thing or two. At the very least, it is interesting to finally see the faces of many Plone and Zope "rock stars".

If you are not familiar with Plone, consider using this chance to learn about one of the most succesful Python applications out there. The Zope/Plone community has been sort of an island within the Python world for too long, so it's good to know that one of the main themes going on at the conference is to reach out to other Python developer communities, not just to show off what has been done, but also to learn about them and how they see things and solve their problems.

Finally, for other Open Source projects that are thinking about holding a developer conference, Christian has some advice for live streaming your talks. Check it out.

As Christian suggested, I'm tagging this post ploneconf2007.
